objective: Strengthen the development of the agricultural insurance market in Latin America, analyzing the Ecuadorian experience; and propose proposals to improve the insurance service considering the impacts of climate change for small and medium farmers, especially in high areas.
Specific objectives:
- Identify the competitiveness and productivity of the agricultural sector through the generation of a risk management culture.
- Share successful experiences in public policies for agricultural insurance in Latin America.
- Learn how to incorporate new technologies and investments that increase the productivity and sustainability of agricultural insurance.
- Disseminate mechanisms to encourage the use of agricultural insurance, with the support of key actors, both private and public.
- Know the claims management developed in the invited countries.
Knowledge and skills that participants will acquire
- Institutional models and successful public policy.
- Credit instrumentation process anchored to an agricultural insurance policy.
- Technological tools that improve the quality of service of agricultural insurance, especially prevention measures for the Sierra del Ecuador, paramo ecosystem.
- Know the comprehensive management of claims getting a satisfied producer.
- Exchange of experiences with all the actors involved in both the private and public sector.
